About the event
Movable Centers
with David Zinder
The most powerful tool the creative actor has is the Imagination. Everyone has an imagination; it is an essential element of the human organism. Most people don’t pay much attention to their imagination on a daily basis – it is just there as part of their being. Actors, however, cannot take their imagination for granted. Just like natural talent, the creative imagination has to be trained, nurtured, kept in shape. Today we will concentrate on one of the most powerful elements in the Chekhov toolbox: the imaginary center. Beginning with the three archetypal centers – Head, Chest, Abdomen – we will expand the concept to different parts o the body in our search for character, scene or moment.
