In 1984, Drew began an artistic journey that traveled the parallel tracks of Michael Chekhov techniques and Lecoq-based physical theatre (with many crossovers!). Drew initially attended a Chekhov workshop with Julie Portman at the School for Movement Theatre (Elkins, WVa), and continued to incorporate this approach in his performing, teaching, and directing. Drew then went to Paris to study with Jacques Lecoq. But it wasn’t until 2015 that Drew began the MICHA teacher and actor training to coincide with his MFA in performance pedagogy from VCU (Richmond, Va).
