Chekhov uses colours in a variety of ways. He gives us the cool blue of the Thinking Centre, the warm yellow of the Feeling Centre, and the red hot of the Willing Centre. This exercise connects the use of colours to affect your partner, text interpretation, and the emotion that rides underneath. It is a way to engage the actor's imagination, deepen the connection to the text, and discover meaning in the moment.
