Sarah Kane directs and teaches for the MCC UK, the Michael Chekhov Studio London, the Michael Tschechow-Studio, Berlin, Germany, Artemis School of Speech and Drama, UK and the Freie Hochschule Stuttgart, Germany. She has taught in universities and theater training programs in the UK and the USA. She co-founded the Michael Chekhov Centre UK in 1995 with Martin Sharp, founded threshold theatre in 1997 to further explore Chekhov’s techniques in rehearsal and performance, and co-founded MICHA with Joanna Merlin in 1999. Ms. Kane performs as an actor and speaker, also for movement companies, and was Artistic Associate at the Stanislavsky Theater Studio in Washington, DC and Artistic Director of the Goetheanum Stage, Basel, Switzerland. From 1989 to 1996 she ran the one-year Speech and Drama program at Emerson College, UK. Ms. Kane trained in Steiner’s Creative Speech, graduating in 1989, and in Chekhov’s approach to acting and theater in Germany, Switzerland and the UK.
