WORKSHOPS IN USA

Each January, MICHA organizes a 5-day workshop for teachers in the US and in Europe. A typical day begins with a warm-up followed by a morning and afternoon class. Some evenings are free and others are devoted to informal and formal group discussion about using the Chekhov technique in the classroom.

January 2-6 2009 California State University Long Beach, CA

We will meet on the CSU Long Beach Campus January 2, 5:30 - 7pm for a reception and orientation at the Studio Theater on the South Campus just off of 7th Street.  You will see the building in the circle off of South Campus Drive.  A shuttle will leave the Holiday Inn at 5:00 pm.  If you are driving yourself please consult the campus map at the following link: http://daf.csulb.edu/maps/campus/south.html

There is metered parking off of South Campus Drive.

Classes begin January 3 and will take place 9 am 5 pm. Classes will end January 6 at 12 pm.  Please plan your travel accordingly.

This fee is inclusive of classes as well as lunch January 3, 4, 5.

 

Housing & Travel Arrangements

Participants must make their own housing arrangements. The nearest airport is Long Beach Airport. Workshop participants needing a place to stay often book a room at the Holiday Inn, Long Beach. The phone number is 562 597-4401.  The hotel offers free transportation to and from the Long Beach Airport. When making a reservation say you are part of the 'Michael Chekhov Group.'  Please reserve early as only a set number of rooms are available at the group rate.

More luxorious accommodation can be found in Seal Beach where there are a number of B&Bs.  You need your own car if you choose accomodation there.

Payment and Cancellation Policy
Payment in full must be made to secure your space in the workshop. $500 of tuition is refundable if participation is cancelled in writing by December 2, 2007.  Cancellation after December 2 is non refundable.  Payment can by made in US dollars with a check or money order and by credit card using Visa or MasterCard.
