TEACHER TRAINING WORKSHOP

January 3-6, 2012

Location: New York City

Brooklyn Arts Exchange, Brooklyn

This workshop is for teachers who are new or experienced in teaching the Chekhov Technique. Participants will receive instruction from MICHA faculty members.

Payment in full is required at time of registration. Cancellation on, or before, November 30 , 2011 will be refunded. Cancellation after December 1 will not be refunded. MICHA Dues are non-refundable.

ADVANCED TEACHER TRAINING INTENSIVE

Application required.

May 30-June 2 , 2012

Location: Hudson, New York

approximately 2 hours north of NYC, exact studio location TBA

This workshop is for teachers who have been integrating the Chekhov technique into their classrooms and who seek feedback on the content of their teaching and on their teaching style. Participants will teach a 45-minute class and receive feedback from MICHA faculty and their peers. The workshop will accomodate no more than 9 teacher participants who will also serve as students during the workshop. Participants must have attended a previous MICHA workshop(s) and will be selected based upon an application that details a proposal for their 45 minute class. MICHA faculty members Ted Pugh & Fern Sloan will also offer instruction throughout the intensive.Jessica Cerullo will teach and facilitate a Critical Response Process based upon the work of Liz Lerman and John Borstel.

Please provide the following if you wish to apply for this intensive:


1. BACKGROUND: A biography of your teaching experience or teaching cv.

2. TRAINING: A description of your training of the Michael Chekhov technique.
(If you have attended MICHA workshops please detail them here.)

3. PRACTICE: A description of your practical experience with the Chekhov work as it relates to teaching, directing, performing, etc.

4. TEACHING: What element(s) of the technique are you confident in teaching and what element(s) do you experience difficulty in teaching?

5. YOUR CLASS: Propose a topic of investigation for a 45-minute class that you would prepare to teach during the Advanced Teacher Training Intensive. This may be a class in something you are confident in teaching or something you struggle with.
